Medical Emergency Health Response (MEHR)

The Medical Emergency and Health Response (MEHR) Project is implemented in 10 municipalities in three different districts, namely: Jajarkot, Salyan and Rukum West.

The objective of the project is to establish a local Medical Emergency Team (MET) and improve the emergency health services in the region through Chaurjahari Hospital Rukum. Furthermore, the project aims to capacitate and strengthen the local emergency response bodies and systems such as the local government, police, and health personnel by providing basic first aid training, supporting in ambulance system management, and providing skills for the mobilization of local resources to efficiently respond to disasters or emergency situations.

Through the project, a B Class Ambulance is now operational with paramedics in the region. The ambulance services will help provide access to health care services especially during emergency cases to the poorest of poor in grave need.
