On May 19, Wednesday, there was a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck at Lamjung. The epicenter of the quake was located at Marshyangdi Rural Municipality. The EQ damaged dozens of houses and injured at least six persons according to the officials. After the EQ was followed by two aftershocks of 4.0 and 5.3 magnitudes.
Thankfully no one got killed. The 6 injured were rushed to District Hospital Lamjung (DHL) and were treated at DHL. Our hospital team camped up a tent at the outskirts of the hospital as we weren’t aware of the impact of the earthquake.
DHL disaster response team showed their agility in such crisis situation and performed exceptionally well to address the situation.
However, our hospital staff quarter got badly damaged and it is not habitable anymore.
So please pray for the injured people and their fast recovery. Also, pray for the people who lost their houses in the earthquake.
