A Mother’s Strength: Manisha’s Journey to Hope

For 20-year-old Manisha Budha, the journey to motherhood was more than physical—it was a test of resilience. From her remote home in Dolpa, she set out on foot at 8pm, fear and hope guiding her through rugged terrain. After nine grueling hours, she arrived at Chaurjahari Hospital at 5am, exhausted but determined.

Her labor was complicated, and her baby was in distress. Doctors quickly decided on an emergency cesarean section. Thick meconium and cephalopelvic disproportion (CPD) made the situation critical. In a place where blood resources were scarce, hospital staff stepped forward—not just as caregivers but as lifelines—donating their own blood to save mother and child.

Then, relief—a cry filled the room, the first breath of Manisha’s baby boy. Weighing 3,600 grams, he arrived safely, his mother’s strength reflected in his presence. The tension gripping her family melted into gratitude.

They had feared they wouldn’t reach the hospital in time. They had feared the worst. But fate and kindness carried them through. Now, Manisha holds her child, her face alight with joy. Despite the hardships, she emerged victorious—a testament to a mother’s strength and the unwavering dedication of those who stood by her.
